Latest IP68 Junction box from Hylec-APL offer gel-filled protection in one of the smallest footprints on the market.

Hylec-APL has expanded its range of weatherproof products to include the latest ‘one-size-fits-all’ Paguro junction box. The small sized junction box, utilizes an innovative adaptor which allows it to accommodate a wide range of cable diameters whilst still maintaining good cable retention. The junction box comes ready packaged with a silicone sealing gel to ensure that it offers IP68 protection.

The latest Paguro junction box, available exclusively from Hylec-APL, is supplied with specialised adaptors for the entry points which allow for secure entry of cables ranging from 6.5mm to 12mm Ø. With a small footprint of only 44x95x24mm, the enclosure takes up a very minimal space and is supplied with either a 3 or 4 pole terminal block; making it ideal for a number of outdoor applications - the 4 pole connection lending itself perfectly to outdoor lighting for example.

The Paguro uses a specially developed silicone gel to ensure that the connection has an ingress protection rating of IP68 to a depth of up to 1.3m; making it ideal for underground connections. Unlike most products that use a gel solution that requires mixing during installation and sets solid after use, the Paguro is supplied ‘ready-to-use’ with a certified operating temperature ranging between -50°C to +150°C; the gel has a high elastic memory which allows the connection to be opened and closed several times if necessary.
